"Bringing Power to the World"
We assemble barges based on customer needs. When the customer expresses an interest in a specific barge, we canvass used engine dealers across the globe, and, based on the information on pricing and availability, we will give you a budget proposal. If you find that the budget price is within your budget, we can then provide you a binding proposal.
We are able to offer you completed barges on a 4 to 6 month delivery schedule. This is because we purchase all the components either from the used equipment marketplace, or new equipment from canceled projects. New equipment will generally carry manufacturer’s warranties. In the case of used equipment, we will have our contractors overhaul the equipment to bring it to “zero-hour” condition, and provide a one year warranty on the overhaul.
Power barges can be assembled based on virtually any fuel, except coal. Typically, gas-turbine based barges will employ natural gas or light oil as fuel. Diesel engine based barges can be designed to run on any fuel: natural gas, light oil, or heavy fuel oil (HFO, a lowest cost fuel option).
A binding proposal is a firm proposal, valid for a stated period, and subject to prior sale and availability of equipment at the the time you decide to move ahead with the project. This proposal is based on our verifications of condition of equipment, estimates on overhauling all equipment to zero-hour condition, assembling the power barge at a suitable shipyard, verifying availability of labor, contractors, and shipyard facilities, determining the best logistics solutions based on your planned point of deployment, etc. In short, considerable engineering and travel costs are involved. As long as you wish to proceed with the project, we will provide you an estimate of the cost of preparing the binding proposal, and ask you to make a non-refundable deposit of the amounts involved. This proposal will also entail a schedule on progress payments that we will expect you to make as the project proceeds.
The project is considered complete when our engineers have commissioned and started up the power plant at your location.
Typically, diesel engine based barges in capacity ranges 100 MW to 200 MW can be delivered in the price range $30 million to $55 million. Gas Turbine barges in the capacity range 100 MW to 300 MW can be delivered in the price range $45 million to $120 million.
Gas turbine barge capacities are based on ISO conditions. In actual operation, the power output is de-rated for hot and humid conditions. Air inlet cooling can nullify the de-rating. We will discuss the options available in these situations with you at the time we get into discussions of your needs.
